The fertile province of Ragusa is located in Southern Sicily, and boasts a rich agricultural heritage. Some of the best cheeses, some excellent olive oil and spicy pepper chocolate specialities come from here. Ragusa has a great sandy beach for relaxing, and plenty of culture. The provincial capital invites for a stroll through its labyrinthine old town. You might bump into one of the production teams shooting a film there, or a new episode of the popular TV series Commissario Montalbano. A little trip to the baroque town of Modica, home of the lyricist and Nobel Price of Literature winner Salvatore Quasimodo, should not be missed.
