Sicily can be reached by plane, ferry, train and car:

Sicily has three major airports Palermo, Catania and Trapani-Birgi. At the airports are bus- or metro-connections (Palermo) to the city centres. For Palermo see:; for Trapani-Birgi see:

There are ferries from different Italien towns to Sicily, for example from Genoa and Livorno or Naples. See for the Genoa-Palermo ferry: Grandi navi veloci ( Many cruise liners stop in harbour towns like Palermo or Trapani. This offers you the possibility of shore excursions.”

There are trains to Sicily from all over Italy (Rome, Milan, Naples). The trains cross the Straits of Messina via ferry, which takes only about 30 minutes.

It is possible to reach Sicily by car via ferry. The ferry leaves the Italian peninsula from Villa San Giovanni in Calabria.
